The New York State Horse Council, Inc. is asking our membership to reach out to your New York State Senate and Assembly person to support funding for the New York State Horse Council, Inc. The attached letter describes the effort that has been ongoing through the Empire State Council of Agricultural Organizations, and personal meetings with our legislators to advocate for the NYS Horse Council, Inc. for the support of our programs to advocate for horses, all breeds and disciplines in New York State.

The Assembly and Senate will likely be finalizing their budgets soon to present to the Governor.

TALKING POINTS:

The NYS Horse Council, Inc. initially established in 1966 has advocated for all breeds of horses and all disciplines of riding for many years. Volunteers of this nonprofit organization have accomplished many good works for the horse industry for 60 years. The NYSHC is seeking funds from New York State to expand their programs in the areas of workforce development, youth leadership training, improvement of trails on public lands and open space protection, large animal rescue and emergency response training, the promotion of equine education from high school through college levels and marketing New York State as a premier trail riding destination.
