Leah Leising

New York State Horse Council

“Horseperson of the Year”

One of the most dynamic new faces in the New York State Horse Council is Leah Leising.  She first came to the attention of the council when she became a prime mover in the development and establishment of the Cattaraugus/Chatauqua Chapter.  After serving as the President of the chapter, she has remained active on the local and become well known on the state levels.  She was recently recognized by her county for all the work she has done promoting the horse and equine tourism in the county.  She also recently was extremely involved in the Wagon Train Trail ride that wound its way through the whole county for a period of 2 weeks.

Recently, on the state level, she has been instrumental in establishing the Council’s new Ride and Drive Program which is mentioned elsewhere in the newsletter.  And so as the old saying goes “no good dead will go unpunished” Leah has been named as the Horseperson of the Year and also as a Director-at-Large for the Horse Council.

CONGRATULATIONS LEAH
